Manuel Rendon: The Visionary Behind Timeplast
Manuel Rendon is the CEO and founder of Timeplast. An American inventor with seven patents granted by the USPTO, he has held several prestigious roles throughout his career. He is a USCIS National Interest Waiver recipient, has sold technologies to Nestlé, and led one of the most successful SEC-regulated crowdfunding campaigns.
The Story of Timeplast
Timeplast is created using alcohols, vinegar, and polyethenols, resulting in a material composed of 70% structured water. This water-based thermoplastic is designed to leave zero microplastics behind—its greatest weakness is water itself.
Just as polyethylene cannot survive in the presence of benzene, Timeplast microplastics dissolve in water. Traditional plastics repel water even at a molecular level, which is why microplastics persist. If plastics were water-soluble, they wouldn’t exist. Timeplast breaks that pattern—it dissolves after a programmable period, offering an end-to-end solution for plastic pollution.
Time + Plast(ic) = Timeplast
This groundbreaking idea was envisioned by Manuel Rendon, a former PepsiCo executive and environmental engineer. He has transformed the concept into a reality and earned recognition as a top business leader to watch in 2025.
Selling the Idea: A Tough Journey
Mr. Rendon’s biggest challenge was proving Timeplast was not just a “greener plastic”—it was a complete paradigm shift.
“No force can stop an idea whose time has come,” he says.
But radical ideas often face resistance. People are wired to trust only what they know. Convincing investors and stakeholders that Timeplast signaled the end of traditional plastics, not just an upgrade, was an uphill battle.
He had to navigate an industry filled with greenwashed marketing, while staying true to real science and innovation.
Timeplast: The Future Beyond Plastic
Rendon believes the key to Timeplast’s success is inevitability.
“Pollution isn’t optional. Regulation is coming. I’m not surfing a trend—I’m building the surfboard.”
He urges leaders to break free from outdated models:
“Forget the playbook. Lead with vision. Make the present uncomfortable—because that’s where the future lives.”
Why Timeplast Matters
